Lock and Key

June 26, 2010

New connectors: a keyhole and a key! I made a key connector once before, but it was an imprint of a key charm I bought. This one is my own design, less fancy, but I like the simplicity. The keyhole is a little more elaborate.

Dance – Necklace

June 25, 2010

Another last minute challenge entry. I think it captures the spirit of the painting rather well. I don’t usually do beaded tassels (too much wire-wrapping 😉 ), but when I looked at the dancer’s swinging shirt, I knew that I needed to create something with similar movement. What do you think?

Dance – Sing – Love – Live

June 24, 2010

Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
Love as though you’ve never been hurt,
Live every day as if it were your last.

I don’t know why the monthly inspiration painting on Art Bead Scene brought these words to my mind, but it did. They were turned into word charms immediately, of course. I tried a different shape this time, because I wanted them to look more elegant – what do you think?

Now I want to make another entry with the “Dance” connector… if I can think of something, that is.

Lost your muchness? I think I found it!

More Simple Jewelry

June 22, 2010

What it is with these simple designs? I don’t know, but I feel drawn to these lately. Possibly because they’re more wearable? This one would really go with everything. Or maybe I’m just lazy, and these are put together quickly? Possibly, I am spending so much time on the creation of more word charms and stamps that I hardly find time for jewelry design anymore at the moment. I do enjoy that part more, though, so I had to put in this little intermezzo – to remind myself what I’m doing it for.

Going Simple

June 21, 2010

Today I felt like creating something simple.

Sorry for the long absence, there will be more word charms (and others) soon! The poll seemed to indicate that nobody hated them, most people loved them, and some think they are OK (and my boyfriend thinks that the words are cheesy, but he counts as one even though he voted more than once 😉 )

Dancing the Bolero – Monthy Challenge June 2010

June 14, 2010

I haven’t done a proper challenge entry for Art Bead Scene in… hm, let me think, did I do any proper entry this year?
After several failures, I have decided never again to try creating components specifically for a challenge. Instead, I’m going to use what I have available and just play with my beads – that way I’m usually more successful, and it’s also way more fun!

This one really was a challenge, as I don’t normally use these colours. And as usual, my first tholught was: “I don’t have anything in pink and green!” Considering the size of my bead stash, that wasn’t likely. If nothing else, I should at least have seed beads and swaroskis – I probably have those in every colour of the rainbow. Match them with a more neutral art bead, et voilà!

This was also the first time I tried out that new brass coloured chain I got, and I really really like it!!

And don’t forget to check out the last giveaway on Earthenwood Studio: some HOT beads!

Words of Wisdom

June 10, 2010

A few random words that came into my head (no grammatical consistency to this). These are charms with one hole, but I think they are small enough for two-hole connectors as well. They aren’t varnished yet, and the whole process is rather time-consuming (create the molds, bake them, stamp the clay, add metal dust, bake them, antique them, apply liquid clay, bake them again.

Do you think they’re worth it? The last time I added a poll it was pretty much ignored, so I think we have to practice this 😉 You do read and comment, so I know you’re out there! Come on, it’s just a single click – and even if you hate them, I wanna know! Also, if you have any suggestions for more/better words, please tell me!

And when you’re done voting, there’s another giveaway to visit at Earthenwoods – Goddess Pendants!

Problems Solved

June 9, 2010

Just posting to tell you that the problem is solved. I can post pictures again, but I don’t have anything really, so I won’t. I had to throw away the dragon mold, as it didn’t turn out good, and I don’t think I’ll try it again. I’d much rather create some things of my own, I have so many ideas, but there’s so little time… stealing time for a piece of jewelry is easy, but polymer clay needs some free time and lots of room, creates a lot of chaos… it’s not something that I like to do after work.

Anyway, I’m back.

Now go check out more cool Giveaways: Buttons and Face Cabochons!

Still Having Problems

June 8, 2010

I don’t know what it is with WordPress, I can’t write anything online (well I can, but I don’t see what I write, which feels beyond weird), and I can’t add pictures to my posts – if I do, I’m directed to a blank page. I also can’t add any tags. I don’t think it’s my fault, but if anyone has had this problem or has an idea what else I might try, I would be glad to hear it.

It’s really annoying that I can’t show you what I’ve been up to. I have been creating stamps with inspirational words – I wanted to do that for a while, and after seeing the Giveaway on Earthenwood and reading that Melanie is retiring hers (seriously, why is she doing that?! They are so beautiful and versatile!), I thought I’d give it a try, probably in the same style as my “Alice” pendants.

If you want to see (and possibly win!) some pretty art beads, head over to her blog for another giveaway!
