Made for the challenge Grandma’s Jewelry Box. The heart pendant is old, I recently found it in some box of stuff on the attic (and forgot to mention it in the blog post), not sure who it belonged to. I think it’s made of brass, some tiny rhinestones and black enamel. I tried to pick up the colour of the rhinestones with silver-lined glass beads and silver seed beads. Lots of mixed metal, and a little “bling” – kind of appropriate for christmas. I’m especially happy that I managed to use only beads from my stock, when at first I was afraid that I would never find anything coordinating for this particular pendant. The black papillon seed beads were actually the last leftovers of another heart necklace I blogged about a few days ago, the one with the pendant by Lynn Davis.
Other beads and findings used: brass chain, gilded toggle and wavy discs, black and clear silver-lined papillon seed beads, silver seed beads and black goldstone beads.
Oh, and there won’t be a blog post tomorrow, probably no time for jewelry making either – we’re having a christmas party at work. And since we’re officially crazy, we’re doing a… barbecue. Even though it’s 6°C, and it’s supposed to rain the whole day. Yay!

Hey there! Thanks for getting inspired again! I love the colors in this. Those frilly gold spacers are awesome. There are so many treasures lurking in your own jewelry box aren’t there?
Remember your post a week ago or so…the one with the rhinestone balls? I think those might be perfect upcycled into something for the current challenge, don’t you?

Thanks 🙂 Sure I remember. I have been thinking about them, but wasn’t quite sure if I should use them – they do fit the style with all those rhinestones, but they’re not exactly old. Thanks for the tips on how to possibly use them, by the way. I’m still thinking, though…
I didn’t have the time for another entry anyway, I haven’t even managed to complete all the ideas I had for the first challenge 😦
And now I’m going to send that mail… and then drop into my bed.
